iFold

A few good questions.

Everything else you need to know.

Is this iOS?

iFold is an iOS-inspired Android launcher. It changes Home, the dock, Search, and its own controls. An App Library page is optional. Apps, the keyboard, lock screen, notification shade, Recents, and system animations remain Android.

Is the preview the real app?

The screens, icon appearances, and native fold clips come from the signed APK offered here. The interactive 3D hinge illustrates folding over those captures. Samsung controls the physical display handoff. Android 13+ uses live glass; Android 12 uses a wallpaper-based fallback.

Which phones work?

Android 12 or newer. The right vertical dock and your Home arrangement carry across Fold displays. Light and dark appearances are included. Tested on Android virtual devices with Fold7 screen sizes; physical Galaxy Z Fold7 testing remains pending.

Does it need root?

No root, bootloader unlock, or firmware change. Install it as a normal app and choose it as your Home app.

Why does Home take me back to One UI?

iFold is still running in preview mode until you select it as the default Home app. Tap its Settings gear → Default Home app and choose iFold in Android’s picker. Phone, Camera and other installed apps keep their own Android interfaces.

Why are my icons still purple?

Updating preserves your saved appearance. Tap the Settings gear on iFold Home, then Match website preview to apply the published wallpaper and Default icons. Your app order stays intact.

Where do the icons come from?

Core system roles—including Mail, Maps and Browser—use Apple artwork while opening your Android apps. Clock and Calendar update live. Other apps can fetch matching App Store artwork. System apps without a match get a consistent fallback; unmatched third-party apps keep their own icon. Alternate icon appearances are approximations.

What leaves my phone?

Optional icon requests send app names or bundle IDs and a store country to Apple. The adaptive light/dark wallpaper is included offline. Other wallpaper previews and downloads come from 9to5Mac. There is no analytics or advertising SDK. Layout and launcher search stay on the device.

Can I go back?

Anytime. Choose One UI Home as the default Home app in Android Settings. Your original home-screen layout is kept separately.
